Your first home could be a starting point.
At Open House Austin, the brokerage I co-founded, we wanted to help people think beyond simply buying their first house. How could that home support the life they wanted?
We created Homeschool, a first-time homebuyer and investing course. I wrote the curriculum, scripts, and launch emails, and taught the course on video.
It gave people a chance to learn from us before choosing an agent—and helped us explore whether our approach to education could reach beyond Austin.

01 / The business problem
What had to change
Most first-time buyer content treats the house as the finish line. We saw a better possibility: a first home could support someone’s finances, flexibility, and future plans.
02 / The strategy
Where the opening was
Build a genuinely useful course, teach it with a real human voice, and let that education become the brokerage’s best lead magnet and clearest differentiator.
03 / The main idea
Teach first. Build trust. Then earn the relationship.
Give people the useful thing before asking for their business.
What I made happen
Strategy is only useful once it leaves the deck.
- 01Co-created the course strategy and curriculum
- 02Wrote the curriculum, scripts, launch messaging, and email campaigns
- 03Taught the complete course on video
- 04Built supporting downloads, calculators, and worksheets
- 05Turned the program into an education-first acquisition engine
